Hello UCTCC Members!

Please take a look at some of the events or activities that our club has participated in or attended!

On Oct 17, 2024, the UCTCC presented a donation of $400 to the Palmerston Community Food Bank. This money was raised at the corn roast event during the John Deere Show this past July in Palmerston.

We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to those who helped make this donation to the food bank possible. One of those being Harriston Agromart, who graciously donated a monetary sum allowing the club to purchase Ontario grown sweet corn and serve it at the John Deere Show.

On September 14, 2023 the UCTCC presented a donation of $400 to the Palmerston Food Bank. This money was raised during the corn roast event at our annual July John Deere Show in 2023. On Friday night July 21st, an old fashioned corn roast took place, allowing attendees to enjoy a succulent fresh piece of Ontario sweet corn. In exchange for receiving some delicious corn, people were asked to make a donation to go towards the local food bank.

We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to those who helped make this $400 donation to the food bank possible. One of those being Corteva Agri Science, a division of Pioneer, who graciously donated a monetary sum, which allowed our club to purchase Ontario grown sweet corn and serve it at our July Show. Moreover, UCTCC Director Art Freeman chaired this corn roast event and kindly served a great multitude of show attendees throughout the evening on Friday.

The UCTCC donated $1000 to the Minto Fire's Palmerston station on September 28, 2023. We provided this monetary donation to demonstrate our gratitude and appreciation for the fire department's help at the John Deere Show and Parade that happened in July 2023.

On September 6, 2023, the UCTCC donated $3000 to the Palmerston and District Hospital MRI campaign.

A portion of this donated money was raised at our John Deere Show in Palmerston from July 2023, where lumber was produced at a sawmill demonstration and then sold to the public.

We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to a number of people that helped make this monetary donation possible.

Harold Jones Enterprises and family of Arthur, Ontario kindly donated their sawmill as a working demonstration at our show in July. Harold built this sawmill numerous years ago and restored it to its original state. The sawmill was belt driven at the show by a few two-cylinder tractors as well as by Henry Deter's John Deere W stationary engine.

Moreover, McGoo's Transport (Pat McGaughey) graciously donated a multitude of spruce logs that the sawmill cut into lumber at the show.

Furthermore, Glenn Shaw was responsible for the set up and daily operation of the sawmill demonstration, with the assistance of Gord McDougall.
